Deck removal – note the rotted transom. IMPORTANT NOTE: You MUST, MUST, MUST, MUST measure the width of the transom at the point where the engine was mounded. Measure the width NOT INCLUDING the outside shell of the hull. WRITE IT DOWN. Your new transom needs to be EXACTLY the same width. If it isn’t, your deck ain’t goin’ back on, my friend. The splash well on the deck must sit exactly where it sat before or the holes in the deck and hull will not line up for re-attachment of the hull.
